How can multiple people use the same computer to take eTIPS?
The system that is serving the eTIPS course uses the identity of the user’s computer to help identify the participant taking the course. When multiple people are taking eTIPS from the same computer, this identification process can become confused. In order to prevent this kind of confusion, which can affect the exam process, each participant should logout of the course upon completion. To logout, go to the following URL in the web browser on your computer:
This link ensures that each participant is logged entirely out of the web site. Any subsequent participant who takes the course from the same computer will have to login, thereby ensuring proper identification.
| How do I return to an eTIPS Course?
If you exit from the course, you may return to the course with the following instructions:
After logging in, the screen should change and a window should open with the course. If that does not happen, follow the on-screen instructions to launch the course window.
|When I try to login, I receive the error message "The information you entered could not be validated". I know I entered my e-mail address and password correctly.. What happened?
It is possible that more than one registration on our web site carries the e-mail address you specified. This can occur if you have multiple registrations, or if other people in your organization used that e-mail address when registering. When this occurs, the e-mail address may not be linked in our system to the password you specified. In this instance, you will need to use your full name, spelled out and separated by a space between your first and last name, as your user name.
| How can I review my certification after taking the class?
We setup a Personal Training Portal that allows every eTIPS user to view his or her records. To access the portal and review your certification records:
|How can I see my course completion certificate?
When you complete the course a temporary certificate of completion is generated. If you want to see it later, you can do so by entering your personal training portal and viewing your registration record.
|I just completed the course. When will I receive my certification card?
Please allow 7-10 business days.
|I failed the course. What happens next?
You are entitled to a free retake of the course and certification exam. A new registration will be created for you, and you will receive an e-mail that provides you with instructions for accessing the free retake course.
|I had to leave the class or test before finishing, or my computer stopped working while I was in either. What happens next?
When you return after exiting from the course you should be placed at the page you last viewed. Please review other instructions as outlined in this FAQ section for returning to a course.
If you had begun the certification exam when you exited the course, you will have to begin the exam again starting with Question 1. (Exams must be completed during one sitting and exiting the course during an exam is not allowed.) Upon return, you will be placed at the page allowing you to begin the certification exam.
In some cases you may get a notification saying “Your Course is Open In Another Window.” To resolve this issue please call us at 1-800-438-8477 ex 600.
|My cursor disappeared from the screen, what should I do?
In some cases a slow or lagging network connection can cause the cursor to disappear. The cursor will usually return within a minute or two. If it does not, try refreshing your browser window or simply close all of your internet windows, go to your email and follow the emailed instructions on how to return to your course. If you are still experiencing issues please call 1-800-438-8477 x600.
|How long does the course take?
Depending on the user and the course jurisdiction, the course can take anywhere from 3 to 4 hours to complete. Users can log-out and return to the course at any time before beginning the exam. Upon returning, the course will resume from the point at which the user logged out. The exam must be taken in one sitting.
