Can multiple people take eTIPS on the same computer at the same time?

No. eTIPS is intended as a single user course, so multiple people cannot take eTIPS at the same time on the same computer.

Can multiple people use the same computer to take eTIPS?

Yes. It is possible for different people to use the same computer to take eTIPS at different times. Each participant should completely log out of the system before the next participant attempts to register or log in on that computer.

How do I return to an eTIPS Course?

After you exit the course, you may return with the following instructions:

  1. Go to http://www.gettips.com/eTIPS.shtml.
  2. Click the Return to Course button.
  3. Enter your username (email address or full name) and password.
  4. Click the Login button.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to launch the course.

When I try to log in, I receive the error message: "The information you entered could not be validated." I know I entered my email address and password correctly. What happened?

It is possible that there is more than one registration associated with the email address you provided. This can happen if you have multiple registrations, or if other people in your organization used that email address when registering. When this occurs, the email address may not be linked in our system to the password you specified. In this instance, use your full name, separated by a space, as your username.

How can I review my certification after taking the class?

To view your certification records:

  1. Go to http://www.gettips.com.
  2. Log in using your username (email address or full name) and password.
  3. Click the Enter Training Portal button.
  4. Select the menu header Participation History to expand the menu.
  5. Select My Participant Records.
  6. View certification records.

How can I see my course completion certificate?

When you complete the course, a temporary certificate of completion is generated for you to view or print. To view your certificate of completion later:

  1. Go to http://www.gettips.com.
  2. Log in using your username (email address or full name) and password.
  3. Select the menu header Seek Participant Training to expand the menu.
  4. Select My Planned Session Registration(s).
  5. Locate the specific registration and select the registration ID.
  6. Click Certificate to display the certificate in a new window.

I just completed the course. When will I receive my certification card?

Please allow 7-10 business days.

I failed the course. What happens next?

You are entitled to one free retake of the course and certification exam. We will create a new registration for you and email you with instructions for accessing the course.

I had to leave the course or exam before finishing, or my computer stopped working. What happens next?

To return to the course:

  1. Go to http://www.gettips.com/eTIPS.shtml.
  2. Click the Return to Course button.
  3. Enter your username (email address or full name) and password.
  4. Click the Login button.

Exams must be completed in one sitting, so if you exit the course during an exam, you must restart the exam from the beginning. Upon returning to the course, you will be placed at the page that allows you to restart the certification exam.

In some cases you may receive the notification: “Your Course is Open In Another Window.” To resolve this issue, call 800-438-8477, ext. 600.

My cursor disappeared from the screen, what should I do?

In some cases a slow or lagging network connection can cause the cursor to disappear. The cursor will usually return within a minute or two. If it does not, try refreshing your browser window. If that doesn't work, close your browser window and then follow the emailed instructions on how to return to your course. If you still experience issues, call 800-438-8477, ext. 600.

How long does the course take?

Depending on the user and the course jurisdiction, the course can take anywhere from 3 to 4 hours to complete. Users can log out and return to the course at any time before starting the exam. Upon returning, the course will resume from the point at which the user logged out. The exam must be taken in one sitting.

How do I order multiple eTIPS sessions?

We recommend purchasing eTIPS Pre-Paid Passports. eTIPS Pre-Paid Passports offer establishments, corporations, and organizations the flexibility of pre-ordering eTIPS registrations. For every passport purchased, we will send you a unique registration code with instructions on how to access the course. eTIPS Pre-Paid Passports offer:

  • an easy way to order several registrations using one payment
  • the ability to hand out pre-paid registrations to new employees as they are hired
  • a way to pay for your employees' registrations without having to provide them with your credit card
  • the ability to send certification cards to a centralized location.

What personal information do you collect and why?

We retain personal information such as DOB, SSN and some other elements (on a jurisdiction-specific basis sometimes), but we only provide that information to regulators and the employer of the individual, and in the latter case only to specifically designated individuals. We do not, as a rule, provide this information in any other than a secure manner, except when we are directed to do otherwise by a regulator. We do not include this information on reports or other information products except when we are directed to do so by a regulator.
