Insurance Carriers and Agencies

Some of the largest jury awards in the United States involved establishments that over-served alcohol. If your insuree fails to serve alcohol responsibly, you could lose millions. TIPS provides a “reasonable effort defense” in court and is proven effective in reducing alcohol-related incidents such as drunk driving, underage drinking, intoxication, and alcohol-related property damage. As a result, many carriers either require TIPS or offer discounts on premiums to establishments that have certified TIPS participants on staff

The success of rolling out a training program depends on affordability and availability. TIPS has certified over 3.5 million participants and is widely available throughout the globe. With TIPS training, you have FOUR options for getting your insurees TIPS certified:

- Click here to request training from a certified TIPS trainer.
- Click here to attend a scheduled Session.
- Click here to take an online eTIPS course.
- Click here to become a TIPS certified trainer.

TIPS stands out among other alcohol server training programs due to our extensive experience and the additional resources we offer our clients beyond the training. These are a few of the resources that are available to you as a TIPS customer.

Certification Manager
Our web-based tool, Certification Manager, allows coalition members to track the training activity within their community. TIPS trainers receive a complimentary subscription to Certification Manager as part of their certification. Organizations can also subscribe to the service and manage their TIPS training across an entire region.

As part of their Certification Manager subscriptions, trainers have access to our Training Management system. These tools allow trainers to advertise their sessions and respond to individuals seeking TIPS training through our referral system.

Regulatory Database
Our Laws and Regulations database is a comprehensive and up-to-date listing of all state and local laws and regulations that govern the sale, consumption, and promotion of alcohol beverages. Click on the link to see a sample page. Access to the regulatory database is available to TIPS trainers free of charge, or can be purchased on a subscription basis.

The TIPS Trainer Marketing Kit is designed to help independent trainers market their TIPS training. In this kit, we have put together specifics about the TIPS program and we offer general marketing information and tips for closing the sale. The tools in this kit will help you make effective marketing presentations and can help expand the opportunities for training.
