Our TIPS Master Trainers bring years of hands-on experience to every workshop, preparing individuals to become certified trainers within their organizations or as independent educators. Debbie Thalison

Debbie Thalison is a TIPS Master Trainer with 21 years of training experience, 17 years in the food & beverage service industry, 12 years in the criminal justice profession, and 16 years as a community health supervisor and director of substance abuse treatment and prevention.

She holds a Master’s in Criminal Justice Administration and a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Concordia University, and an Associate’s degree from Lansing Community College.

For the past 11 years, she has taught criminal justice, and for 17 years, she has delivered training across behavioral and public health programs.

A lifelong learner who motivates students to reach their potential, Debbie focuses on practical, scenario-based, responsible alcohol service that prevents sales to minors and intoxicated patrons.

Larry Moore

Larry Moore has been a TIPS Master Trainer since 2001, offering his vast experience in hospitality and responsible alcohol service education. His career spans restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, where he has opened, renovated, and managed operations from the bar tops to the dance floors.

For decades, Larry has trained diverse groups across the globe, leading interactive, discussion-based workshops for professionals of all backgrounds and languages, while emphasizing peer-to-peer, engaging learning sessions.

Larry has also been at the forefront of innovation in virtual and hybrid TIPS instruction, helping design and launch the first live online workshops in 2020, including implementing 360RapidGrade to streamline exam results and training.

Dedicated to empowering new trainers, Larry continues to champion interactive, visual, and inclusive education that keeps responsible alcohol service both relevant and real for students.
