TIPS offers two certification levels: trainer and server/participant.
Certification as a TIPS trainer requires completion of one of our train-the-trainer workshops. The standard workshop is a two-day program using our core program, TIPS for On Premise. Once you have completed this workshop, you are certified to train any of the eight programs we offer. Trainer certification lasts for one year.
We also offer program specific workshops which are one day long, but only certify you to train that specific program. Currently, these workshops are available for our University, Off Premise and Casino programs.
Certification as a TIPS server/participant requires completion of a 2 - 6 hour session, depending on which program you choose. Sessions are conducted by certified TIPS trainers. Once you have completed a session, regardless of the program chosen, you are certified for a period of three years.
HCI keeps certification records for both trainers and servers/participants. Below is a comparison chart highlighting some of the differences between trainer and server/participant certification.
