Alcohol Server Training Law
According to SC Code Section 61-3-120(B), alcohol server training is required if you serve alcohol for on-premises consumption 10 or more hours per week, or manage staff who provide alcohol service. Training must include a proctored exam. Training is required by May 1, 2026, or within 30 days of employment.

Requirements
You must complete an approved training program to receive an SCDOR Alcohol Server Certificate if you:
• Work 10 or more hours per week serving alcohol for on-premises consumption OR
• Are a manager who oversees alcohol service.
Length of Certification
SCDOR Certification is valid for 3 years
