Requirements Alabama manages a voluntary Responsible Vendor Program (RVP). TIPS is an approved provider.
Certification Certification is valid for 3 years.
Age to consume 21
Age to pour 21
Age to Sell 18 for beer in grocery stores; 21 at liquor stores.
Age to Serve 19, if the establishment has been annually certified as a responsible vendor under the Alabama Responsible Vendor Act, 21 otherwise.
Notes on Selling or Serving Arrests for public intoxication are predicated upon behavior displayed.
Dram Shop Liability Laws Yes
Acceptable Forms of ID Any valid state driver's license, military ID, valid passport or US passport card, or valid state ID card with photo and birth date. It is not required for someone to have an identification card on their person in order to be served alcohol.
